NBC Sports and Riddell, football’s head protection leader, today announced a multi-year partnership for Riddell to serve as the Official Helmet of the All-American Bowl through 2021.

“The celebrated All-American Bowl athletes represent the next generation of the game. As the Official Helmet of the All-American Bowl, Riddell is proud to outfit these elite athletes in industry-leading head protection that allows players to do what they do best – perform,” said Kyle Borland, Vice President of Institutional Sales, Riddell.

For the 2020 All-American Bowl, athletes will be outfitted with Riddell’s popular SpeedFlex helmets. The helmet design includes selective flexibility engineered into the helmet’s shell, face mask and face mask attachment system. Riddell SpeedFlex is the preferred helmet for high school and division 1 athletes. In 2019, more than 70 percent of high school teams and 65 percent of all division 1 FBS players wore SpeedFlex technology. Since the Riddell SpeedFlex helmet was introduced it continues to be player proven at all levels of play, allowing athletes to perform at their best.

“We’re excited to partner with Riddell as the Official Helmet of the All-American Bowl,” said Gary Quinn, Vice President, Programming & Owned Properties, NBC Sports. “Riddell’s innovative approach and industry-leading equipment will benefit the nation’s elite athletes as we continue to grow the game and highlight the next generation of stars.”

Only 100 football players receive the honor of wearing the All-American Bowl helmet and jersey each year. Each player selected to participate will culminate their high school careers during the annual East vs. West matchup. NBC will present live coverage of the 2020 All-American Bowl at 1:00 PM ET from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

The 2020 All-American Bowl Road to the Dome tour, which began on October 11, spans nine weeks and will travel to all 100 high school All-Americans to present the student-athletes with honorary adidas All-American jerseys within their own communities.

The All-American Bowl, which announced a multi-year partnership extension with adidas recently, will welcome the best high school athletes in the nation to their state-of-the-art adidas players’ lounge during All-American Bowl week. The lounge features the latest athletic recovery innovations and technology, along with newest videogame consoles and games, allowing the student-athletes to relax, recover and compete virtually with each other off the field throughout the week.
