The All-American Bowl Selection Committee announced the finalists for the Defensive Player of the Year Award, given annually to the top defensive player in the country.

This is the ninth year of the All-American Bowl Defensive Player of the Year Award. Past winners include Derrick Brown, Micah Parsons and George Karlaftis.

The All-American Bowl Defensive Player of the Year Award will be recognized during the 2020 All-American Bowl Awards Show on Friday, January 3rd in San Antonio, Texas.

Defensive lineman Justin Scott (Chicago, IL/ St. Ignatius College Prep), the four-star prospect has officially accepted his invitation to the 2024 All-American Bowl. Having been selected to play in the twenty fourth edition of the All-American Bowl, Scott will play in the annual East vs. West matchup on Saturday, January 6, 2024, in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.  The Bowl will be nationally televised, live on NBC and Peacock, and will feature the nation’s top 100 high school football players.

Scott was selected by the All-American Bowl Selection Committee, consisting of the All-American Bowl, 247Sports and NexGen founder Brent Williams. All-Americans are eligible for the All-American Bowl Player of the Year Award, the Anthony Muñoz Lineman of the Year Award, the Defensive Player of the Year Award, the All-American Bowl Man of the Year, the All-American Bowl MVP Award.

Only 100 football players receive the honor of putting on the All-American Bowl jersey each year. Each player selected to participate will culminate their high school careers at the All-American Bowl.

Quarterback Pierce Clarkson (Bellflower, California/ St. John Bosco High School), the University of Louisville commit, was officially honored as a 2023 All-American during a virtual jersey presentation as part of the fifth week of the Road to the Dome digital series.

Additional All-Americans honored include Christian Hamilton, Caleb Herring, Jamari Johnson, Luke Montgomery, Braxton Myers, Kadyn Proctor, and Jaedn Skeete.

Having been selected to play in the twenty-third edition of the All-American Bowl, Clarkson will play in the annual East vs. West matchup inside the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
