Caleb Downs Named 2023 All-American Bowl’s Player of the Year

Caleb Downs was named the winner of the award which is given annually to the nation’s most outstanding high school senior football player and is the most distinguished individual award given in high school football.

The All-American Bowl Selection Committee announced the winner for the prestigious All-American Bowl’s Player of the Year Award. Caleb Downs (Hoschton, GA/ Mill Creek H.S.) was named the winner of the award which is given annually to the nation’s most outstanding high school senior football player and is the most distinguished individual award given in high school football.

According to 247Sports, Downs is a five-star prospect and the No. 1 overall safety in the nation. During his senior season he accounted for over 850 yards of total offense and 24 total touchdowns. Downs also recorded 83 tackles and 5 interceptions on the defensive side of the ball. He led his school to their first ever football state championship title. Downs will play football at the University of Alabama next fall.

Past winners of the award include Adrian Peterson, Trevor Lawrence, and Bryce Young.

Quarterback Dante Moore (Detroit, MI/ Martin Luther King Jr. H.S.) has been named the recipient of the All-American Bowl’s Offensive Player of the Year award.

The All-American Bowl Selection Committee announced the winner for the All-American Bowl Offensive Player of Year Award, given annually to the top offensive player in the country. Quarterback Dante Moore (Detroit, MI/ Martin Luther King Jr. H.S.) has been named the recipient of the All-American Bowl’s Offensive Player of the Year award.

According to 247Sports Moore is a five-star prospect and the No. 3 quarterback in the nation. During his senior season he threw for 2,392 yards and 32 touchdowns. Moore helped lead Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School to their second consecutive state championship title. He will be playing college football at UCLA.

Past winners of the award include Puka Nacua and D.J. Uiagalelei, Ty Thompson.
